Yesterday, the sun shone brilliantly and the salty sea smells bee-lined into our nostrils. The sand and water appeared endless. Surfers, frisbee-chasing dogs, families, couples and lone individuals dotted the horizon, seemingly rejoicing such abundance. We, too, felt the harmony here on the Bolsa Chica bike trail to Huntington Beach.
A quick stop for oranges and almonds from a picnic table on the bluff above Dog Beach. Onward to the bustling pier with a surfing contest underway.
Bikes park free at Duke’s and Mai-Tai Friday beckoned. A Wisconsonian, eyes bulging at hubby’s Ahi poke tacos, rushed over to our table to inquire about that sensational-looking creation. We recommended the steamed buns with pickled vegetables and pork belly, too.
Later, a snooze under the umbrella and people-watching satisfied. The pelicans entertained as they relentlessly dive-bombed for fish.
