This morning’s arrival into port was heralded by a light show with bells in Rhodes, Greece.
The sun was appropriately brilliant on this “island of the sun.” Our guide identified Kalithea (meaning “the best view”) and Lindos, our destination, as where “The Guns of Navarone” was filmed in 1962.
Dropped off on a hill above the town square, we trekked down to the tiny medieval village and then scaled the winding 300 steps upward to the exquisite archaeological site of Lindos.
